Job Description
A postdoctoral fellow position is available at the Neuroscience Center of Excellence, LSU School of Medicine (New Orleans, LA). The Li lab studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neural circuit development, sensitive period plasticity, and vocal communication behaviors in the songbird, using it as a model for speech and language development and related neural developmental disorders such as Autisms. A multidisciplinary approach is employed to investigate gene and epigenetic regulation, dendritic and synaptic development, and vocal learning behavior (to learn more about work, see: Shi et al., eLife 2018).
Energetic and self-motivated individuals with a recent PhD in molecular neuroscience or related fields are encouraged to apply. Broad experience in molecular cloning, gene regulation, epigenetics, Western blot, immunostaining, confocal imaging, viral work, and animal behavior are especially desirable. Excellent communication skills and organizational skills are required.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, your resume, reprints of relevant publications, and contact information of three references to: xli4@lsuhsc.edu.
