The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Cell Biology has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual in cancer biology. The Postdoctoral Associate will join a team focused on understanding the role of inflammatory mechanisms that drive breast cancer progression and metastasis. Objectives will be to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying how the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End products (RAGE) drives increased breast cancer metastasis, and the pre-clinical testing and development of RAGE therapeutics. The funded postdoctoral research will be performed in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative group between the Dr. Barry Hudson and Dr. Marc Lippman laboratories.
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline. Experience with cell culture and microbiology techniques such as tumor cell functional assays, FACS, qPCR, Western Blot, immuno-precipitation, and cell signaling. Experience with in vivo mouse models of cancer. Prefer experience in efficacy-testing of small molecule compounds. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work successfully as part of a highly collaborative team is critical.
