The School of the Coastal Environment at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a temporary visiting faculty in the Marine Science department for the 2019-2020 academic year, with the potential of renewal for an additional academic year. Applicants with expertise in any sub-discipline of marine biology are encouraged to apply. This position will be expected to teach introductory level marine science courses and upper-level courses in marine biology. The primary teaching responsibilities are within the undergraduate Marine Science program. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in marine science or related field and previous teaching experience is preferred.
Coastal Carolina University is rapidly expanding and building upon a historic emphasis on the marine sciences. The University is located 10 miles from the Atlantic shoreline and within the lower coastal plain of northeastern South Carolina. The coastline in this region contains extensive areas of beach shoreline, landward marshes, and wetland systems. Marine Science is one of the largest undergraduate departments within CCU and is committed to collaborative, interdisciplinary research and education.
