Plans, coordinates, and optimizes general and scientific needs of a College laboratory. Provides professional guidance and technical support to faculty and Principal Investigators and acts as administrator of an assigned College laboratory.
Plans and organizes administrative operations of the laboratory.
May participate in the development of departmental grant budgets; the overseeing of expenditures of grant monies; performing accounting functions; producing expenditure reports.
May design, implement, maintain and update intranet and internet laboratory web sites for both private lab and public access.
May coordinate and oversee the networking of internal laboratory computers.
Interprets rules, regulations, and policies for faculty and laboratory staff and insures compliance.
Coordinates procurements of equipment and supplies and manages all stages of the acquisition cycle.
Establishes procedures for management of the use of laboratory equipment including maintenance, repair, and inventory.
Performs personnel management functions and supervises technical support staff.
May conduct laboratory research with Principal Investigators as opportunities are available.
Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
