Job Description
Job Description:
We are seeking a Postdoctoral researcher or Senior Postdoctoral researcher who will support the Quantum Heterostructures and Device Physics Lab in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Louisiana State University (LSU). The candidate will conduct research related to epitaxial growth of oxide thin films and heterostructures; develop new nanoscale devices based on these thin films and measure their electronic and/or magnetic properties. The goal of this project is to unravel unique electronic/magnetic properties generated by interfaces and superlattice-type structures and to explore their potential for novel nanoscale devices.
Responsibilities:
Postdoctoral Researcher - Epitaxial growth of oxide thin films and heterostructures using pulsed laser deposition (PLD); systematic characterizations using several in-situ characterization tools: x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) and angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES); participating in synchrontron beamtime experiments at local, national and international synchrotron lightsource (85%). Contribute in writing scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals; prepare and present posters and/or talks at scientific conferences; write beamtime proposals for synchrotron-based x-ray photoemission experiments; assist in guidance of undergraduate and graduate students(15%).
Senior Postdoctoral Researcher - Lead epitaxial growth of oxide thin films and heterostructures using pulsed laser deposition (PLD); systematic characterizations using several in-situ characterization tools: x-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) and angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES); lead the synchrontron beamtime experiments at local, national and international synchrotron lightsource (85%). Write scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals; prepare and present posters and/or talks at scientific conferences; write beamtime proposals for synchrotron-based x-ray photoemission experiments; supervise undergraduate and graduate students(15%).
Minimum qualifications: (Both levels) Ph.D. in physics or related field. Senior level-Three years of related work experience.
Preferred qualifications: Experience in device fabrications in a cleanroom environment and quantum transport measurements.
