The postdoc will be co-supervised by Dr. David Johnson (Industrial Engineering & Political Science, Purdue University) and Dr. Holly Wang (Agricultural Economics, Purdue University). Primary responsibilities include (i) the design and execution of discrete choice experiments and survey instruments to elicit varied stakeholders' willingness to pay for risk reduction to different types of buildings (e.g., residential, commercial, critical infrastructure); and (ii) organizing workshops and other engagement with local stakeholders in Los Angeles impacted by NDRCBs.
Applicants should have a PhD in economics, policy analysis, decision sciences or a related field.
A successful applicant should have experience with discrete choice experiments or related revealed preference methods; prior experience with community outreach or other survey design methodologies are advantageous but not required. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation are expected.
