Applications are solicited for a post-doctoral research engineer/scientist immediately available in a grant-funded research project at the Purdue University, West Lafayette Campus, IN, USA. The job responsibilities includes conducting research and assist in conducting research for the development and testing of quality sensors and sensing systems for water, soil, and plant systems. The person will be expected to work in an interdisciplinary team of faculty, staff and students. The person will also be expected to document the data, design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, write the required reports and publications, and present the results in multiple formats conferences and meetings. The person will be expected to manage the project as per the standard and specific guidelines while fulfilling/complying with the applicable rules and guidelines.
Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, Biological, Agricultural, Civil, Chemical, Material Science or Material Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics or similar discipline from an accredited institutions. Experience in developing and testing sensors/sensing systems with different sensing modalities including frequency-based techniques is required. Strong knowledge of mathematical and statistical techniques in analyzing data is required. Knowledge of high level computer programming languages (C, C++, Python, or R) will be preferred. An excellent oral and written communication skill in English is also required. Ability to work effectively in a team environment is critical for the job. Ability to communicate in Spanish language is a plus. The salary is competitive.
