Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Applicants interested in postdoctoral fellowships are invited to apply for positions as part of the research group led by Dr. Robert Orlowski, Florence Maude Thomas Cancer Research Professor and Chair, ad interim, of the Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The focus of the group is on developing an expanded understanding of the molecular and immunologic pathobiology of multiple myeloma and related disorders, validating novel targets that can be translated to the clinic, and understanding mechanisms of resistance that could serve as biomarkers and/or targets for chemosensitization. Current projects of interest focus on novel agents that influence the function of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, synthetic lethal screens in deletion 17p myeloma and other high-risk subtypes, and novel immunotherapeutic approaches. Successful applicants would be part of an established, well funded, committed, and productive interdisciplinary research team of investigators. Ideal candidates would be molecular, cell, or immune biologists with PhD degrees and excellent knowledge in immunology. They should have experience in molecular cloning, RNA and DNA sequencing, generation of stable cell lines,
RNA interference, flow cytometry, in vivo (murine) studies, and immunology, among others. He/she should have excellent written and spoken (English) communication skills and promote scientific collaboration within the research group.
For those interested, please send a CV, three letters of recommendation, and a 2 page research statement describing past achievements, skills and research interests to Trish Waitschies at PMWaitschies@mdanderson.org.
