Postdoc Fellow in Cancer Proteomics
- H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center
- Location: Tampa, FL
- Job Number: 7066548 (Ref #: hlj_24896)
- Posting Date: May 27, 2020
- Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute has an opening for a postdoctoral scholar in cancer proteomics research. We pursue an interdisciplinary approach spanning proteomics, chemical biology, translational medicine, molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics and to characterize systems level views of cancer signaling networks. Particular emphasis is given to integrating functional proteomics technologies, e.g. chemical and phosphoproteomics, to dissect the underlying mechanism of drug action and cancer biology.
We are looking for a candidate with background in bioinformatics and/or biostatistics with a cross-disciplinary skill set who is interested in working collaboratively on projects employing mass spectrometry based proteomics. Ongoing projects are examining protein connectivity, phosphoproteomics, and shotgun expression proteomics to study signaling in cancer models. Successful candidates will have a publication track record demonstrating a strong background in mass spectrometry based proteomics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, programming, and/or mathematics. The candidate will be jointly supervised by Dr. Eric Haura and faculty colleagues with expertise in bioinformatics and statistics.
Moffitt Cancer Center is a premier cancer research institution in the United States. Built in an attractive location, it is the only NCI-designated cancer center in Florida and one of the top institutions in systems medicine and personalized cancer therapy. Moffitt features a number of high-quality core facilities equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and a cluster of expertise particularly in proteomics.
