Post-Doc position in adoptive T cell immunotherapy
Adoptive transfer of gene-modified T cells induces cancer regression in heavily pretreated patients. Treatment involves ex-vivo engineering of autologous lymphocytes, to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) with specificity for a tumor-associated antigen. CARs are fusion proteins containing an antigen-recognition domain, derived from a single-chain antibody, and an intracellular signaling domain. A postdoctoral training opportunity is open in the Abate-Daga lab to perform research in the design, development, and validation of novel CARs, as well as mechanist studies of CAR-T cell immunobiology. Technologies to be implemented include: gene modification of human T cells using viral vectors, and non-viral platforms; genomic engineering using CRISPR/Cas9; system-level signaling analysis using phosphoproteomics and gene expression methods; among others. Preclinical validation of candidate constructs will be performed using murine models of adoptive cell transfer.

-Background in single-cell RNA sequencing
-Hands-on experience in animal models.
-M.D. or Ph.D. in Immunology or relevant field.
