The STEM Translational Communication Center (STCC) in the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida (UF) has an opening for a full-time postdoctoral associate in cancer communication. The postdoctoral associate will join a vibrant interdisciplinary research team comprised of faculty, postdoctoral associates, research staff, and graduate students. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Janice Krieger, Director of the STCC, to contribute to a highly interdisciplinary, NIH-funded research study through data collection, data management, data analysis, and leading/contributing to manuscripts related to the project (e.g., message design, intervention evaluation, health technology, dissemination, research methods).
The postdoctoral associate will receive training in translational health communication within the context of cancer population sciences. Other potential areas of training include recruitment and dissemination science, reducing cancer inequities, implementation of health technology (e.g., patient portals, virtual humans), and utilizing unique data sources. The position is for one year, with potential to renew. The postdoctoral associate will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of researchers, participate in training opportunities offered by the STCC, the UF Cancer Center, and the UF Clinical and Translational Sciences Institutes, and receive grant writing mentorship.

ADVERTISED SALARY: $50,000
Applicants should have a PhD in health communication, communication science, public health, psychology, or a related discipline by the start date.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in interdisciplinary teams, familiarity with quantitative data analysis, and an interest in implementing mobile health interventions.
