Summary
The Estes Laboratory is offering advanced training for a highly motivated and professional candidate to serve as a postdoctoral associate in a team-based research program in a laboratory setting with primary responsibilities for carrying out research to investigate replication and spread of human norovirus. Research will be shared in lab meetings and written up in manuscripts that are published. This postdoc requires a person who is a creative molecular virologist and cell biologist with expertise in enteric viruses, culture and lentivirus-transduction of human intestinal organoids, and live time lapse imaging of virus infected cells. Additional expertise in cellular signaling, particularly calcium signaling pathways is strongly preferred. Must be able to work well within a team environment and with a willingness to assist team members when needed.
Job Duties
- Design, execute and interpret experiments individually and in conjunction with others who are part of a program project research team
- Share research findings in lab meetings
- Write up research findings in manuscripts that are published
- Utilize molecular virology and cell biology lab techniques specifically utlize expertise in enteric viruses, culture and lentivirus-transduction of human intestinal organoids, and live time lapse imaging of virus infected cells
- Utilize lab techniques:cellular signaling, particularly calcium signaling pathways
- Work within a team environment
- Assist team members when needed
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Basic Science
