Job Description
Summary
The Westbrook lab is seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher to work in an interdisciplinary team environment with the goal of understanding RNA biology in breast cancer and other aggressive malignancies. Candidate should be familiar with molecular principles of RNA metabolism as well as have significant bioinformatics experience analyzing RNA sequencing data.
Job Purpose
Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.
Job Duties
- Leverage genomic and computational tools to understand RNA biology and mechanisms of RNA metabolism in breast cancer and other aggressive malignancies.
- Colloborate to develop research programs and assist in computational tasks related to RNA biology.
- Contribute to the development and deployment of informatics and analytical pipelines related to RNA projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
Other
- Participate in research planning and proposal writing.
- Travel to professional conferences each year.
