Job DescriptionA postdoctoral position is available at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Art Skoultchi, Professor and Chair of Cell Biology.
The goal is to understand the roles of H1 linker histones in chromatin structure and function, gene regulation and cancer. We have prepared a unique series of knock-out mice and ES cell lines lacking specific H1 histones. Our studies have revealed roles for H1 histones in gene regulation, the epigenetic landscape and nuclear organization:

Seeking an accomplished applicant with a strong background in cell and molecular biology. Experience working with embryonic stem cells and mice is a plus. However, in the selection of candidates we will emphasize overall scientific abilities and potential rather than specific experience or technical expertise. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent and possess strong independent research abilities with ambitious scientific interests, self-motivation and the ability to work effectively with a team.
