Job DescriptionSeveral post-doctoral positions in the laboratories of Dr. Yi Fan and Dr. Yanqing Gong at the University of Pennsylvania are available to develop new therapeutics to treat cancer and heart diseases. Our work aims at deciphering the mechanisms by which tissue microenvironment regulates immunity, cancer progression, and cardiac repair. The postdoc research projects focus on 1) reprogramming tumor endothelial cells and macrophages to block tumor progression, reverse tumor immune suppression, and overcome tumor resistance to checkpoint blockade and CAR T immunotherapy, 2) T or NK cell infiltration, persistence, and activation in tumor microenvironment, and 3) targeting vascular microenvironment to promote cardiac repair after ischemia.
Highly motivated individuals with a PhD degree in cancer biology, vascular biology, immunology, stem cell biology, or a related area are encouraged to apply. Practical experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques and animal models is required. Preference will be given to recently graduated candidates with strong career motivation. Competitive stipend and a generous benefits package commensurate with experience will be provided according to NIH guideline.
