Postdoctoral Appointee-Neutron and X-ray Scattering Group
- Argonne National Laboratory
- Location: Lemont, IL
- Job Number: 7075551 (Ref #: 409452)
- Posting Date: Feb 25, 2021
- Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Job Description
We invite you to apply for a Postdoctoral Appointee position within our Materials Science Division (MSD).
The job will focus on studying magnetism in films and heterostructures, with an emphasis on understanding the correlation between the magnetic spin configurations and anomalous Hall effects in topological heterostructures and the electric control of magnetic properties. The primarily research tool for studying these systems will be neutron scattering, particularly polarized neutron reflectometry. This will be complemented by X-ray techniques, such as X-ray magnetic dichroism, and in-house laboratory probes of structure and magnetism. A significant part of the experimental work will be performed at large-scale neutron or X-ray user facilities.
