Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Li lab is recruiting for a highly motivated, passionate and independent individual with excellent interpersonal skills to play a key role in advancing the mission of the lab. We study the stress response pathways and protein quality control mechanisms in development and longevity, and their dysregulation in diseases including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. Our lab combines the power of unbiased genomics, functional genomics, and bioinformatics with detailed functional dissection using genetics, cell biology and biochemistry. The successful applicant will use the nematode, C. elegans as a model to study the temporal-spatial regulation of stress response pathways and their functions in reproduction and longevity. This position will be supported by our recently funded MIRA grant. Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics or other relevant area, M.D., or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
A recent doctorate in Biological Sciences or related field with experience in Molecular Biology, Cell & Developmental Biology, or Genetics is required. Experience with C. elegans, and skills in genomics, cell biology and/or biochemistry are preferred.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, use manual dexterity, talk or hear; Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic, caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold 4C, and/or extreme cold -80C from freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.
