Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Miller lab seeks a qualified candidate to assist in sample prep and data analysis for proteomic-related research. The candidate will be expected to design, perform, and analyze complex research experiments; organize, interpret and communicate statistical data to supervisor and co-workers; modify protocols to improve processes; and troubleshoot problems in lab. Additionally, the candidate will provide guidance to research staff, graduate students, and post docs; and collaborate and build constructive relationships with vendors and technical advisers. The candidate will be required to work independently, but seek assistance when needed, and operate highly specialized equipment requiring moderate to high degree of skill after appropriate training. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree typically in one of the biological sciences and/or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience. Can analyze and summarize data and results. Can communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Work Hours: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years of previous laboratory experience. Familiarization with computer programming and/or previous bioinformatics experience.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, use manual dexterity, talk or hear; Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic, caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold 4C, and/or extreme cold -80C from freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.
