Postdoctoral Appointee - Computational Biology
- Argonne National Laboratory
- Location: Lemont, IL
- Job Number: 7084884
- Posting Date: Sep 8, 2021
- Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Job DescriptionArgonne National Laboratory is seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee with a background in Computational Biology to join an exciting project. In this role you will conduct basic research in computational biology and systems biology with the goal of understanding the dynamic response of plastidial metabolism in the event of micronutrient scarcity. You will also reconstruct and simulate the plastidial metabolism of several crop species, modeling the dynamic response of this system under changing environmental conditions. Ultimately, the goal is to build a deep mechanistic understanding of how the dependency of key cofactors in plastidial metabolism will impact the plant’s ability to manage the flow of energy, carbon, and nitrogen. You will also validate predictions by integrating omics data into the simulations, in collaboration with integrative multi-institutional research team. Data and algorithms will be integrated in the DOE systems biology knowledgebase (KBase) for public dissemination.
