Job DescriptionThe University of Virginia's Office of the Provost invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position in Faculty Affairs beginning as early as fall 2021. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment. A 1-year reappointment is possible but contingent on the availability of funds, business need, and successful performance.
The Post-Doctoral Research Associate will support one or possibly multiple faculty development and faculty affairs programs. The program work will be based on the Associate’s expertise, skills, and professional goals, though we are particularly interested in candidates who could support faculty mentoring programs, leadership development programs, and policy impact evaluation for faculty affairs. The Associate will also help advance research and assessment efforts gauging impact and informing program development. Regardless of the programs and assessment projects they support, the Associate will help Faculty Affairs advance its mission to integrate equity-focused practices into its work.
The candidate must possess these minimum qualifications:
Completion of a Doctoral degree by appointment start date
Experience managing or supporting programs/initiatives that engage faculty
Expertise with qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research approaches
Experience in conducting assessments/evaluations of programs and initiatives
Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to collaborative and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and attention to detail
Competitive candidates will possess some, though not necessarily all, of the following preferred qualifications:
Experience with designing and implementing programs/initiatives for faculty
Experience with writing internal reports or presenting/publishing research findings
Experience leading educational programs for faculty around equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace
Experience with technologies such as Qualtrics and Excel
