Job DescriptionPhD/MD degree (or foreign equivalent) in cellular/molecular biology, genetics, or biochemistry or a related field. Solid laboratory experience with cell biological, biochemical and molecular biological techniques. Experience with standard cell cultures and advanced organotypic cell culture methods. Proficiency in mouse husbandry, mouse colony maintenance and in vivo mouse experimentation. Proficiency in viral gene transfer and histological methods.
The Lab of Professor Ute Moll at Stony Brook University Medical School is recruiting a highly talented and motivated scientist with PhD/MD training that is interested in pursuing a postdoctoral position in pre-clinical/translational cancer research. Learn more about Dr. Moll’s research.
The candidate will work on NIH-funded projects focused on studying the role of the p53 gene family in cancer and development. The candidate will be exposed to various training opportunities including grant and manuscript writing with the goal that in the second year of fellowship they will have submitted or obtained a fundable grant. Position available immediately. Salary commensurate with accomplishment, fit, and experience.
Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, conduct research experiments using the methods listed above.
Write manuscripts and grants and give research presentations.
Other duties as assigned including traveling to and presenting at scientific conferences.
