Are you an early career researcher looking for your first challenge? Do you have a background in Molecular Virology. Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
Project Title: Assessing Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus-host cell interactions
We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant to investigate how the human tumour virus, Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), manipulates host cell RNA modification pathways to enhance its own replication. The post will be based in the Whitehouse research group, Leeds. The project will use a range of molecular and genomic-based approaches to highlight a novel KSHV-mediated mechanism to regulate viral gene expression. Moreover, this project aims to identify a novel targets for antiviral intervention for this important human tumour virus.
You should have a PhD (or be close to completion) in Molecular Virology, Cell Biology or a related discipline is required. Excellent communication skills and evidence of a good publication track record are also essential. You will join a highly active research group studying various aspects of human tumour virus biology.
