Job Description
Summary
We are seeking a motivated candidate to fill a Postdoctoral Associate position at the Department of Ophthalmology, Baylor College of Medicine. The goal of this project is to develop a novel therapy to treat corneal angiogenesis and graft rejection. Research activities involve corneal surgeries, imaging and tissue dissections in animals. Other activities include animal breeding and maintenance, immunohistochemistry, cell culture to prepare antibody drug, reagent preparation, protein binding assay, data analysis, lab maintenance, data analysis, report preparation and manuscript writing. This position requires animal research skills. Preferred qualifications include a productive publication record in peer-review scientific journals and research experience in animal research and/or surgeries. We will provide additional training for specialized research skills in corneal surgeries and other research activities necessary for the project.

Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts corneal surgeries and procedures in animals.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Performs non-animal laboratory research
- Analyzes data, summarizes research findings and writes report/manuscript.
- Performs the following research activities:
- Animal-related research - 70%
- Non-animal laboratory research and data analysis - 20%
- Organizes lab, orders supplies, prepares report and manuscript - 10%
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
