Job Description
Summary
The person with this position will be working in a research laboratory focused on T cell immunotherapies for the treatment of breast cancer. They will learn to do preclinical research under the supervision of other members of the laboratory and the guidance and support of the lab PI. They will assist other lab members with their research experiments.
Job Duties
- Works independently and understands science goals and project targets.
- Interacts and communicates with other lab members (the lab has 2 graduate students and a postdoc).
- Reads and interprets pertinent scientific literature.
- Understands importance of keeping good documentation of experiments.
- Isolates peripheral blood mononuclear cells
- Performs immunophenotyping experiments.
- Performs functional immunoassays including ELISA, elispot assays, cytotoxicity assays.
- Performs molecular biology experiments including PCR, Western Blot, cloning.
- Discuss result of the experiments with the PI.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a doctoral program.
- Experience Required: None Required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher level education
