Lab Research Topics:
- Telomeres in Schizosaccharomyces pombe
- DNA damage checkpoint suppression by telomeres
- Pef1, S. pombe ortholog of human cdk5
- Vitamin K-dependent protein carboxylation

Responsibilities:
- Independent project design with the goal of data generation, analysis, interpretation and manuscript preparation
- This position is to study S. pombe telomeres
- ChIP, proteomics, Southern blotting, molecular genetics
- Study telomere suppression of DNA damage checkpoints
- Isolate nanobodies from yeast expression library
Education:
- PhD or MD/PhD required
Languages:
- English Proficiency proof required for candidates arriving on J-1, J-2, or F1 + OPT visa status
Work Experience:
- Previous experience in a research or academic setting. Graduate student experience meets this requirement.
- Scientific writing experience
Additional Preferred Qualities:
- PhD is preferred
- Strong interest in basic science
- Expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, cytology
- Yeast experience not required
