The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Cancer Biology, is hiring for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Fan Laboratory (https://researchdirectory.uc.edu/p/fanyb). Fan lab has major research interests in vascular biology, metabolism and tumor microenvironment. We currently focus on the elucidation of molecular mechanisms underlying vascular diseases and tumor angiogenesis using a combination of molecular, cellular, genomic and mouse genetic (conditional knockout, transgenic and mutant knock-in) approaches for the studies and translational research.
Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee. Appointments shall not exceed five (5) years; however, short extensions may be granted when necessary to complete a critical research project.
Perform and conduct the research required by the faculty supervisor to a high standard and in accordance with all institutional and federal regulations.
Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
May support the development of proposals for research-related funding and grants.
Communicate actively with the project team, ensuring that relevant information and issues in implementing projects/experiments are captured in a comprehensive and timely manner.
Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.
Ph.D. in Physiology, Pharmacology, Biology, or a related field required.
Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree, or the equivalent foreign equivalent.
Research experience in vascular diseases, breast cancer biology, or tumor microenvironment.
Prior experience in animal studies and surgical procedures.
Experience to independently design and conduct experiments
