A Postdoctoral Fellow position is immediately available the department partment of Immunology and Theranostics at the Beckman Research Institute at City of Hope.
Dr. Yazaki's research focuses on the development of novel antibody-based molecules for the imaging and therapy of cancer. The scope includes recombinant antibodies, antibody fragments, fusion proteins, nanoparticles, conjugation chemistry, animal models, PET and NIR fluorescence imaging, radioimmunotherapy, photodynamic therapy, cGMP manufacture and translation into the clinic.
This postdoctoral project offer specialized training in protein design, cloning, expression, purification, biophysical characterization, preclinical animal models, radionuclide/optical imaging and therapy and translation to first-in man clinical studies.
Postdoctoral Fellows are expected to be capable of working rigorously and independently to drive their projects to success. Communication skills (oral and written) are key, and the postdoctoral researcher is expected to present results at professional society conferences and prepare first-author papers each year. City of Hope provide strong support for scientific writing and presentations (abstracts, manuscripts, grant applications and other materials) and offer guidance and opportunities for mentoring (i.e. training graduate students), all in a rich research environment with expertise in antibody engineering, molecular imaging, immunology, and translational sciences for postdocs who want to pursuit a career in academia or industry.
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- Ph.D in Life or Biological Sciences and/or related field.
- Strong background in antibody engineering.
- Experience in protein design, molecular biology, biochemistry, animal models and/or immunology.
