Summary
The Postdoctoral Associate will evaluate the metabolic and epigenetic drivers of immune exhaustion as it relates to mycobacterial immunity. Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments in the fields of metabolism, epigenetics and immunology.
- Coordinates and implements molecular biology and targeted epigenetic editing experiments.
- Evaluates and analyzes data using FlowJo, CytoBank, SPICE, Volocity, Imaris, R-statistics and other similar programs in order to comprehensively interpret experiments.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures in conjunction with existing projects.
- Summarizes above research findings and analysis and communicate these findings with the scientific community via journals, conference presentations and grants.
- Responsible for laboratory operations including assisting with laboratory orders.
- Supervises research technicians, graduate and under-graduate researchers.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Metabolism experience.
- Epigenetic-editing experience.
- Flow cytometry experience.
- Microscopy experience.
- Microbiology experience.
