A funded opening for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Illinois at Chicago is available immediately. The successful candidate will be working on molecular and translational neuroscience in genetic diseases of the brain. The successful candidate will conduct multidisciplinary research with a variety of approaches available, such as next-generation small molecules (inhibitors, chaperones), adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors gene therapy, iPS/primary cell culture, CRE-recombination genetics, behavioral analysis, electrophysiology, and proteomic/lipidomics using cell and animal model systems. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree obtained within 1-2 years, a record of publications conformed to career stage, and experimental & scientific background in molecular and/or translational neuroscience. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and be able to take full responsibility for the design, execution, and direction of their assigned research project.
