Job Description
Summary
The Ellis-Foulds laboratory is a dedicated translational oncology research program, rich with individual expertise and collaborative studies, which focuses on generating new and optimizing current treatment strategies for patients across the breast cancer spectrum. In order to develop precision diagnostics, we are interested in delineating mechanisms of resistance to standard-of-care therapeutics and metastasis for each breast tumor subtype. The successful candidate is expected to develop and carry out independent research projects, supervise technicians, and work in collaboration with the bioinformatics and functional genomics team.
Job Duties
- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
- Documents results of experiments.
- Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
- Prepares project reports, scientific manuscripts, grant proposals, and abstracts, and present the research work in conferences or scientific meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Required: MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- Experience Required: None Required.
Preferred Qualifications
- The ideal candidate must hold a PhD or MD/PhD degree with expertise in molecular and cellular biology.
- Knowledge about molecular biology and cancer biology.
- Experience with in vivo tumor models and/or bioinformatics is preferred.
- A strong record of achievements and publications, encompass the ability to work independently and in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment, and demonstrate excellent scientific communication and writing skills.
- Prior experiences in tissue culture and basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, DNA purification, Western blot, … etc) are required.
- Experience with chromatin immunoprecipitation-RNA sequencing, immunoblot, ex vivo culture, and immunoblot analyses, are preferred.
