Job Description
The Escola Paulista de Medicina, at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Brazil, seeks outstanding applicants for two postdoctoral positions in the laboratory of Dr. Danilo Roman-Campos, with research emphasis in studying inherited and acquired cardiac diseases. Successful candidates should have a PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physiology or related fields and provide a good track record of high-impact publications. Applicants should be willing to engage in research projects focused on the evaluation of the acute and chronic cardiac and neurotoxicity of pesticides found in potable water. The Project starts on September, 1th, 2022. Candidates are expected to work with techniques including heterologous expression of ion channels, cellular electrophysiology (patch-clamp and multielectrode arrays) and live cells imaging, using cardiomyocytes and neurons derived from induced pluripotent stem cells. Previous experience in at least some of the aforementioned approaches are required and should be highlighted in the application. Experience in electrophysiology is desirable.

Applicants will receive a salary of BRL 8,479.20/month with an additional 10% of the basic salary to cover for research related expenses. If you currently leave out of São Paulo, an assistance of BRL 8,479.20 will be provided to cover moving expenses. The position will last for a year, with the possibility to renew for up to 4 years, depending on progression and available funding.
