Job Responsibilities:
- Independent project design with the goal of data generation, analysis, interpretation and manuscript preparation
- Support data collection and analysis for a clinical trial evaluating the effect of electrical stimulation of the dentate nucleus plus physical therapy on motor function in patients with upper extremity hemiparesis due to Ischemic stroke.
- Characterize neurophysiological signatures of stroke recovery in patients receiving DBS plus physical therapy.
- Evaluate the effect of DBS plus physical therapy on motor function within and across stroke patients.
- Support collection and analysis of magnetoencephalography (MEG) and behavioral data in patients with chronic pain.
Education:
- PhD or MD/PhD required
- MD with relevant laboratory experience may substitute for PhD
Languages:
- English Proficiency proof required for candidates arriving on J-1, J-2, or F1 + OPT visa status
Work Experience:
- Previous experience in a research or academic setting. Graduate student experience meets this requirement.
- Scientific writing experience
Additional Preferred Qualities:
- Develop computational models to fit pain behavior and regress model parameters against neurophysiological data to understand brain function.
- Develop data analysis tools and analyze electrophysiological, behavioral, and imaging data.
- Write peer-reviewed publications and participate in the preparation of grants.
