Job Description
The Applied Materials Division is seeking a candidate for Postdoctoral position in the area of synthetic organic chemistry/polymer chemistry with a focus on materials for water purification. This position will primarily involve work on materials synthesis in a laboratory environment. Characterization and use-testing of new materials will also be required. Previous experience with cyclodextrin chemistry or materials for water purification and kg scale synthesis is highly recommended. The candidate will design or modify laboratory procedures and protocols, develop experimental designs, run experiments, make detailed observations, gather and analyze data, and effectively report results.

Position Requirements
A Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or related field with 0 to 2 years of experience.
Knowledge and hands-on experience in the following areas: organic synthetic chemistry or polymer chemistry, materials for water purification, materials characterization.
Ability to communicate effectively and on a timely basis with the laboratory supervisory personnel on all developments or matters resulting from laboratory work activities.
Ability to maintain organized notebooks and project files.
Proven ability to be an excellent team player.
A high commitment to safety.

The position requires hands-on laboratory work to synthesize new organic materials and polymers for water purification as well as analyze and new materials.
