Job Description
Dr. Yi Zhang is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering within the Institute of Materials Science at the University of Connecticut. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and completed his postdoctoral research with Dr. John A. Rogers in the Querrey Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics and Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University. His current research group focuses on bioelectronics and biosensors for disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The recent work from his group has been published in Science Advances, Nano Letters, and ACS Sensors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:
Conduct research under Dr. Zhang’s supervision
Design and develop wearable sensors and devices
Carry out data analysis and interpretation
Write publications
Train and lead a team of undergraduate and graduate research assistants
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or another related field
Experience in at least one of the following research areas: biosensors and bioelectronics, microfluidics, wearable sensors, or analytical chemistry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two or more years of experience in developing wearable chemical sensors and micro-and nanofabrication
APPOINTMENT TERMS
The start date for this position is anticipated for Summer or Fall 2022. The position is for an initial one-year appointment and is potentially renewable for another two years. Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience based on NIH guidelines.
