Several (2-3) postdoctoral or visiting fellow positions in the field of the tumor microenvironment is available in Dr. Jing Yang’s lab at Houston Methodist Cancer Center, Houston Methodist Research Institute. The elected candidate will be responsible the projects aimed at identifying biomarkers or therapeutic targets within the bone marrow tumor microenvironment of multiple myeloma for better prevention, diagnosis or therapy improvement. The ultimate goal of Dr. Yang’s translational research program is to explore the innovative mechanisms by which tumor microenvironment promotes the pathogenesis and drug resistance of multiple myeloma. The lab currently focusing on the interaction of tumor cells with adipocytes, bone and immune cells, the association of obesity and cancer, and the role of bone marrow microenvironment in chemotherapy, immunotherapy and bone metastasis. These studies aim to provide novel and potential therapeutic targets and tools for the enhanced therapy efficacy, early detection and prevention of myeloma patients.
