Research Fellow, Centre for Doctoral Training in Complex Particulate Products and Processes
- University of Leeds
- Location: Leeds, United Kingdom
- Job Number: 7100451 (Ref #: EPSPE1069)
- Posting Date: May 20, 2022
Do you have a background in experimental laboratory research? Can you share your expertise and support CDT students with their PhD research? Do you want to develop your career in an active group at one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities?
The School of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Leeds, hosts the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Complex Particulate Products and Processes (cP3). The Centre has recruited 10 students per year who study on a 4-year integrated MSc/PhD degree. The centre works closely with industry and with national and international research centres. The former are actively involved in the centre’s activities, notably by sponsoring the students and collaborating in their PhD research work. We are now seeking to appoint a Research Fellow, to provide additional support to the CDT’s final cohort of 15 PhD students. This is an outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the CDT’s team.
Working closely with the CDT’s Director, Co-Director and the academic supervisors, you will provide research support for selected PhD programmes in terms of laboratory experiments and/or computational modelling and/or drafting of papers for conference presentations and journal submission. The Centre engages with a large number of external industrial and international stakeholders, and national research facilities and there will be opportunities to support and engage with these activities.
Having previous experience of working in a research role in a research or academic environment, you will have significant experience in experimental laboratory research. Some knowledge in computational multi-scale modelling techniques and/or direct experience of working with industry would also be beneficial.
