Job DescriptionA Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Reproductive Biology Lab, a newly established team within the Maternal and Child Health Division at Sidra Medicine in Doha, Qatar. Our research focuses on the basic and translational aspects of reproductive biology. We aim to identify novel mechanisms regulating fertilization and early development using various model systems, including zebrafish, mice, and humans. Our ultimate goal is to translate basic science discoveries to develop novel tools for in vitro fertilization (IVF) patients. To this end, our group closely collaborates with the IVF program and the fertility specialists here at Sidra Medicine.
Using multidisciplinary approaches, the selected candidate will carry out innovative research to discover novel mechanisms regulating fertilization and early embryo development in different model systems (zebrafish, mouse, and human). Fish or mouse in vitro fertilization.
Basic molecular techniques (including and not limited to DNA/RNA extraction, PCRs, and Western Blot analyses).
Expression of recombinant proteins in eukaryotic cell lines.
Genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic analyses of biological samples in collaboration with our core facilities.
We offer secure long-term funding and a very competitive salary, fringe benefits, and housing.
