What Your Job Will Be Like: Are you interested in conducting groundbreaking research at the intersection of neuroscience, computer science, mathematics, and engineering? We are seeking a dedicated postdoctoral appointee with machine learning (ML) experience to conduct research on neural-inspired algorithms for conventional and neuromorphic computing platforms. On any given day, you may be called on to: + Advance ML theory + Develop ML solutions for real-world problems + Design ML training environments (simulations); collect and curate training data + Analyze, integrate, and implement innovative techniques from literature + Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of neuroscientists, computer scientists, mathematicians, and engineers to tackle complex problem + Publish research results in top-tier journals and conferences Qualifications We Require: + Possess, or are pursuing, a PhD in Computational Neuroscience, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field + Proven track record with machine learning techniques and/or experience with systems modeling and simulation + Experience in a programming language such as Python, C, C++, or MATLAB + Able to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance Qualifications We Desire: + Curiosity about innovative machine learning algorithms (e.g., neural-inspired algorithms, reinforcement learning, deep neural networks, spiking neural networks, recurrent neural networks) + Experience with reinforcement learning algorithms (single and multiagent systems) + Experience with ML training frameworks (e.g., tensorflow, pytorch, openAI gym, stable-baselines, rllib, etc.) + Interest in ML methods for training with limited resources (e.g., SWaP or data constraints) + Experience with specialized computational hardware such as GPUs, FPGAs, neuromorphic processors, and/or machine learning accelerators + Prior research activity.
