Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Stella Alimperti's Lab at Georgetown University. Our research is focused on investigating mechanochemical and biological mechanisms with emphasis in microvascular diseases in soft and hard tissues by using microfluidic systems (organ-on-a-chip technology), synthetic biology tools and advanced microscope techniques.
The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular biology techniques (cloning, western blot, etc), in vivo studies, and microscopy.
A PhD in a related field such as biomedical engineering, biology, biochemistry is required.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with National Institute of Standard and Technology, National Institutes of Health, and Medstar Hospital at Georgetown.
This full-time position (~60K per year) with benefits is fully funded for two years with an initial appointment of one year. There is also the possibility of extending the position beyond the first two funded years by applying for outside fellowships.
