A post-doctoral fellow position is immediately available at Dr. Wen-Xing Ding’s laboratory at The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). The Ding Lab studies the mechanisms of autophagy and organelle homeostasis (focusing on lysosome, mitochondria and ER) in lipid metabolism in tissue injury (liver, adipose, pancreas and brain) and tumorigenesis. The lab has tremendous expertise on organelle biology using unique mouse models in addition to primary cell culture. The Lab has established multiple engineered mouse model on autophagy, mitochondria dynamics and lysosome functions to investigate alcohol and diet-induced fatty liver disease and drug-induced liver injury as well as liver cancer. Candidates must have PhD who are motivated and independent with solid technical backgrounds in molecular biology, cellular imaging and animal experimentation are preferred.
