Position Description:
The Department of Radiology Nuclear medicine is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar. This position is anticipated to start in May-June 2023. The Theranostics laboratory studies developing new PET probes for management of advanced malignancies, using antisense based strategies, aptamers and CRISPR. We are particularly interested in the preclinical developmental of new PET probes that can aid in detecting therapy resistance of various tumor lesions in a patient. Additionally, this position will help with projects on CRISPR-based tumor imaging, advanced aptamer design and optimization of antisense PET probes which will be tested in 3D cell culture and animal models.
Education Requirement:
PhD or MD/PhD in biomedical or related sciences (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pathology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) or MD with at least 1-2 years of bench research experience.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
Experience with sterile mammalian cell culture.
Experience with histochemical staining techniques such as immunofluorescence, RNA in situ hybridization, and/or immunocytochemistry.
Desire and or experience in working with laboratory animals.
Excellent knowledge of basic chemistry as related to research design and experimentation.
Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques such PCR and RT-PCR.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with 3D cell cultures(tumor spheroids)
Experience with CRISPR.
Experience with hybridization and radioligand labelling techniques.
Experience in working with laboratory animals including tissue dissection and processing.
