Summary Description
The Columbia University Medical Center Department of Dermatology is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral scientists interested in working on skin autoimmune and inflammatory diseases as well as skin cancer and their relationship to the microbiome. Projects will involve the use of mouse models of alopecia areata, microbiome methods, 16S and shotgun metagenomics, molecular biology, mouse models of melanoma, analysis of human biosamples, flow cytometry and computational analysis of large data sets. This is an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant, diverse, and collaborative team of basic and translational investigators in the laboratory of Dr. Angela Christiano.
Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent
Experience in working with human samples and mouse models of disease
Experience in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases and the microbiome
Experience in training other scientists and technicians in lab techniques
Computational analysis of bulk and single cell RNAseq data,16S sequencing and shotgun metagenomics data is a plus
Other Skills & Abilities
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
