Description of Duties:
An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Musah lab at the University of Albany, State University of New York. Salient features of the project include isolation, structural characterization and quantification of lipids from biological matrices towards the goal of investigating diseases characterized by lipid dysregulation. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in lipidomics, preparative scale lipid isolation and structural characterization of lipids by 1- and 2-D NMR and mass spectrometry. Highly self-motivated and productive individuals are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous experience working with non-traditional biological matrices would be an asset.
Requirements:
MinimumQualifications:
A PhD received within the past three years from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in analytical, organic or a related chemistry discipline is required with demonstrable experience in the area of lipidomics and lipid isolation and structural characterization.
Must have the ability and experience to work with culturally diverse groups of people.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with biological complex matrices.
Additional Information:
Hourly Range: $50,000 - $55,000 (DOE)
