Ph.D. degree level with 0 to 3 years of experience or equivalent
Ideally, we are seeking a chemist with experience with surface-sensitive spectroscopic techniques, including second-harmonic generation (SHG), sum-frequency generation (SFG), and phase sensitive SFG
Considerable knowledge of data analyses methods is expected
Practical expertise in surface-sensitive measurements, including, tensiometry of liquid-vapor interfaces and Langmuir trough techniques would be an asset, as would experience with surface functionalization and self-assembled monolayer preparation
Some knowledge of high-resolution synchrotron-based X-ray scattering and spectroscopy techniques (such as X-ray reflectivity and X-ray absorption spectroscopy) may be viewed as a plus
Some knowledge of analytical chemistry, chemical separations or interfacial processes would provide a strong advantage
Considerable skill in both written and oral communication is considered a strength, as is the desire to work interactively and productively in a multidisciplinary environment
