Job Description
A postdoctoral scholar position is available at Professor Chen's laboratory at the University of California, Davis. The Chen laboratory is focused on translational cancer research with special interest in p53 tumor suppressor. Since wild-type p53 is frequently silenced in tumors, we are interested in restoring wild-type p53 expression and activity. We are also interested in targeting mutant p53 as a cancer therapeutical strategy since tumors are known to be addicted to mutant p53. Both small molecules and peptides are being designed to activate wild-type p53 and/or inhibit mutant p53 directly or indirectly via their binding partners.
