Job Description
Summary
The post-doctoral candidate will be expected to contribute to the broad research effort in the Texas Children’s Cancer Hstiocytosis and Lymphoma Program Lab. The ideal candidate will conduct laboratory experiments on research projects with focus on immunology, immune disorders, lymphoproliferative disorders and lymphomas. The candidate will keep abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques and developments within area of research; successfully compete for extramural funding from National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health, Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, and additional foundation grant sources; summarize data and provide supervision and guidance to junior level technicians. In addition to directly performing the proposed immunology and molecular biology experiments, the candidate will coordinate studies with collaborating clinical and translational research teams.
The candidate will need to be able to work in a team environment.
Job Duties
- Focuses on molecular biology (e.g. tissue processing, nucleic acid extraction, tissue culture, PCR, flow cytometry, mouse colony maintenance) and immunology
with experimental systems as well as primary human and mouse tissues.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates are expected to have degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field and experience with molecular and cell biology techniques, including qPCR, western blots, Immunohistochemistry, RNAi, mutagenesis, and cell proliferation and migration assays.
