Summary
Laboratory of Dr. Hari Yalamanchili focuses on: Design and development of various computational approaches to decode complex biological phenomena and underlying molecular interplay. Specifically, to decode cryptic splicing, alternative polyadenylation and gene regulatory networks in neurological disorders. Advancing RNA centric therapeutic approaches using data driven integrative machine learning techniques.
About the Institution: The Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute (NRI) foster a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment to understand the genetic causes of various pediatric and adult neurological diseases and translate to novel therapeutic strategies. Job Duties
- Develops new computational methods to integrate large-scale multi-omic datasets.
- Worksclosely with other computational and bench scientists.
- Ensures that project objectives are met as required by supervisor or collaborators.
- Analyzes high throughput Next Generation Sequencing datasets viz. RNA, ChIP, WGBS, Single-cell, Spatial datasets etc.
- Reviews existing pipelines and propose improvements.
- Publishes methods, software, and application papers.
- Conducts collaborative projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field.
- Experience with bioinformatics algorithms, analytical pipelines and large-scale data analysis.
- Demonstrated a good publication record in scholarly journals.
- Proficiency in a language such as R, Python, Pearl. Java, C/C++ is a plus.
- Good understanding of statistics, machine learning.
- Deep learning experience is a plus.
- Working in UNIX environment.
- Experience in HPC and AWS to parallelize the execution of computational methods is a plus.
