Responsibilities
The Arthritis & Clinical Immunology Research Program (omrf.org) is hiring a Research Assistant Professor to perform biostatistics analyses of clinical trial and experimental data to aid in the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of autoimmune disease. Develops data analysis plans, including power calculations. Performs a wide variety of analyses, including but not limited to parametric and non-parametric statistics. Evaluates the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data and to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, accuracy, reliability and usability of data. Reports results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables. Conveys results for presentations to non-statistical audiences. Analyzes and interprets statistical data and prepares conclusions. Assists with data visualization. Identifies relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research. Plans data collection methods for specific projects and determines the types and sizes of sample groups to be used. Queries databases and manages datasets.
This is a transitional position for scientists who have completed an exemplary postdoctoral experience who have been evaluated as being likely to develop independent projects and attract extramural grant support. Incumbents are characterized by considerable experience, highly distinctive competence, and a demonstrated ability to perform independently.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in a Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Epidemiology or other relevant area, and/or M.D., or equivalent and typically two years of exemplary postdoctoral experience. Must have the ability to perform statistical analysis using appropriate statistical software programs. Must be a team-player with good organizational and communication skills. Must be able to work independently, as well as highly attentive to detail, and dependable.
