Job Description
The Psychology Department at Montclair State University invites applications for a 1-year (renewable for a second), full-time, 12-month position as a Post-Doctoral Teaching and Learning Fellow in Developmental Psychology. The Post-Doctoral Teaching and Learning Fellowship (PDTLF) is a new and innovative program at Montclair focused on teaching and development for those people interested in teaching and supporting student success in a majority-minority, HSI, R2, comprehensive institution. We are looking for a PDTL Fellow to augment our course offerings in lifespan developmental psychology, with a focus on aging. Expertise in quantitative methods is desired, as the Fellow may also teach courses in our core quantitative curriculum.
The Fellow has an opportunity to engage in work that will directly impact students in the tradition of Montclair’s notable commitment to be a leader in pedagogical innovation while expanding their teaching skillset. The Fellow will teach 4 3-credit classes in each of Fall and Spring semesters and 2 additional courses in summer and/or winter sessions. The total teaching load will be 30 credits per calendar year. The Fellow may also have opportunities to lead in the development of new courses in our psychology curriculum, with a commensurate reduction in teaching load.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in psychology, human development, or a related field. ABD candidates are expected to complete their PhD before beginning the position in Fall 2024.
