Job Description
Dr. Edwin Wan’s lab at West Virginia University School of Medicine is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow who has keen interest to establish their research career in the field of neuroimmunology. Our research group aims to understand how the activation of immune system impacts the progression of neurological diseases, with current focuses on two directions: 1) elucidating the cytokine-mediated signaling pathways that promote neuroinflammation; 2) investigating the role of immune-glial cell interactions in brain recovery following ischemic stroke. We use genetically modified mouse strains, in vivo disease models, advanced imaging techniques, flow cytometry, next generation sequencing, and various cellular assays to address our scientific questions. The postdoctoral fellow will receive excellent training for the next stage of their career.
